He’s generous, optimistic, positive and friendly.
However, he was accused of rape in his own country-Republic of Belarus. During the investigation, he was laid off in Taiwan. He had no place to stay since the company not only refused to offer the job also accommodation. He is now staying in a little room of my brother’s.
I went to my brother’s during Christmas weekend. My brother, he and I went to have dinner, then talked almost about everything for the whole night. After several bottles of beer, he suggested that he would like to make S. Burrito (named after his nickname) to us, which is popular side dish of Vodka in his country. In the end of the night, we gave each other goodbye hug and promised that we would meet again real soon.
I saw the real friendship among these newcomers and Taiwanese in the small town-Yeliu. The good news is that he was proved innocent recently. He can finally go back to his home land, and he invited his Taiwanese friends to visit Republic of Belarus together in order to make a warm welcome in a toast to the friendship in his hardship.
These foreigners are from Eastern Europe, mostly from Republic of Belarus, Ukrain and Poland, but they love Taiwan more than Taiwanese do. They are trained and dreamed to be diving athletes. This dream job seems to be the quickest way to get wealthy. However, they have nothing as getting older if they do not invest in assets and themselves. The most important thing to athletes is their own bodies.
They're employed in the aquarium in Yeliu, Ocean World, they can only take a day off every week, which means four times a month. However, they have no information of the access to get the full working right of waht emplyees are supposed to have in Taiwan. We only see the bright side of their beautiful bodies swimming in the water without knowing their working condition.
Aside from the problem I observe, I appreciate their lifestyles and optimism. They teach me the importance of Carpe Diem and Staying Positive.
